How do I book?

In order to give guests greater security and eliminate the risk of double booking, we use Holiday Lettings to handle reservations and take payments. They charge guests a small booking fee (the prices quoted in the table do not include this.) Holiday Lettings take a 10% deposit, and guests are required to pay the balance a month before the visit.

We have chosen not to take a returnable damage deposit, instead trusting our guests to take good care of the cottage. We regret that due to the fact that the garden is not enclosed and the property is surrounded by fields with sheep, Tigh na Boireach is unsuitable for dogs.

Availability and Booking

We strongly advise that you book your ferries at the same time as booking the cottage as it is a popular crossing that gets booked up well in advance particularly at weekends

“The cottage has a wonderful home from home feeling and a lot of effort has gone into all the small details from the comfort of the bed (exceptionally comfortable) to the quality of towels, linen and a well equipped kitchen. The cottage is warm within winter and once inside feels both spacious and private (for a small cottage). A wonderful base from which to explore all the islands.”

“Spot on! Perfect for 2 people. Weather decent. Found the orchids we hoped for (Hebridean Marsh Orchid) plus 5 red necked Phalaropes on Benbecula (Loch Mor).”

“Had a lovely stay, beautiful cottage! Had a male Hen Harrier in the field next to cottage one evening. Saw the Phalaropes.”

L.E

“Wonderful week! We did not want to leave. Especially enjoyed our long evenings with BBQ langoustine and sun at Clachan Sands beach and the views from the top of Eaval were pretty spectacular!!!”

“What a wonderful place! What fantastic weather! Heard corncrake near the burial ground and enjoyed the family of buzzards coming and going next to the cottage.”

“We had a great stay. Loved the cottage. Have had some great beach walks at Clachan, Berneray, Sollas and today at Balranald where we saw an otter! :) One of your pupils stopped by to say hello Ian. She left you a wee note. There’s no escape!! So glad I found your cottage on the site. Fiona”
